Red Thorn 1: Scottish mythology in DC Comics.

Hello pretty people which are reading this!
¡Hola gente linda que está leyendo esto!
You know I'm reading Red Thorn and that's one of the comics I follow, so since I quite liked it decided to inaugurate this section I should review the first issue. I hope at least one of you decide to give it a chance and read it!
Saben que estoy leyendo Red Thorn y es uno de los cómics que sigo, así que como me gustó bastante decidí que para inaugurar esta sección debería reseñar el primer número. ¡Espero que al menos uno de ustedes decida darle la oportunidad y leerlo!

Read in Spanish.
Léelo en español.

For some time I've had my eye in Red Thorn, mostly because of the cover (those who are not, blame me for being superficial,) and finally I read the first issue. I must say ir didn't leave me disappointed at all, and although I had no expectations but hope I liked it, now I do have.
The story introduces us to a girl with quite particular drawings which seem to become real after she creates them, giving no very pleasing results, also somehow related to a semi-god of Scottish mythology caught from the past.
It progresses at its own pace, let's say, regularly. It isn't a slow reading, but not as fast as others, you cannot read it in one breath and thatt's the best option, to account, it seems to have a bit of everything: romance, horror, fantasy, eroticism ... obviously points to an adult audience, although I'd say in the society in which we live, a 17-year-old could read the first number without problems.
Isla, on whose name the S is silent, seems like a striking character, I like what I've seen so far and believe there will be good things in the future of this girl, but referring to the plot, because her life itself seems to to set, although interesting for us, horrible for her and unenviable.
In addition, I'm very intrigued to know how she'll relate with Thorn in this new world, we don't see much of our demigd's role, at most two or three pictures of him, but it has an aura of mystery quite attractive and that draws the reader.
Another thing that strikes me is the gothic and alternative aspect that he has, even with pierced ears, a rebel hairstyle and tattooed body, so it is clear what kind of audience they target.
If the artist responsible for the cover drew the whole comic, I would be more satisfied, it wouldn't had hit me so much when I saw the first page inside. This is the only complaint I think takes place.
I was expecting something quite stylized, delicate lines and well crafted colors, many fades, come on, the same style that shows the cover itself or quite similar, and is not hat the inner pages have this, but the styles are so different it bothered me at first.
I don't know what happens in this industry they don't give comics a single image... While you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, more when that was what that made me want to read it, I think that at least artists should have similar styles that combine for the exterior and interior, or like that I see it.
As for the storyline, it seems to be something developed little by little, keeping a mystery about what will happen in the next part. I don't recall seeing something about the Scottish gods, much less a comic that took place in Glasgow, so as far as I'm concerned, Red Thorn came to break the mold  DC had and win a reader without much problem.
By the way, did you read this week's chapter for Perfecta Maldición? No? Well, you can do it here before I upload the next one this Tuesday ;) And you still have time to participate in the joint reading for La Hija de Bóreas.
Por cierto, ¿han leído el capítulo de esta semana para Perfecta Maldición? ¿No? Bueno, puede hacerlo aquí antes de que suba el siguiente este martes ;) Y todavía tienen tiempo para participar en la lectura conjunta de La Hija de Bóreas.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
¡Déjenme saber lo que piensan en los comentarios!

Greetings and hugs!
¡Un saludo y un abrazo!
